Doctoral Defense: Collective and individual identities in the external communication of regional cluster firms – The case of Franciacorta wineries

On Monday, November 25th 2013, Alessandra Zamparini will defend her doctoral thesis on “Collective and individual identities in the external communication of regional cluster firms: The case of Franciacorta wineries”. The defense will take place at 17:15 in room 250.

The committee will be composed of Prof. F. Lurati, USI (thesis supervisor), Prof. R. Grandinetti, Universitą degli Studi di Padova (co-supervisor), Prof. P. Foreman, Illinois State University (external jury member), Prof. D. Ravasi, Cass Business School (external jury member). It will be chaired by Prof. Suzanne Suggs.

Epiday 2013: Young researchers presenting their projects

This year, the Epiday of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of USI will take the form of a poster session, in which doctoral students at the beginning of their doctoral studies will present their research proposals. Three IMCA members are participating in this event.

Who wants to learn more about the research projects of Lakshmi B. Nair, Ana Javornik and Irina Lock should visit room 351 today. The poster session starts at 3 pm and ends at 4 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Auguri to Dr. Comi!

Alice Comi has successfully defended her PhD thesis:

Understanding the Impact of Visual Facilitation on Inter-Organizational Teamwork: An Experimental Evaluation with Follow-Up Focus Group Interviews

She now works as a visiting scholar at the Design Innovation Research Center at the University of Reading thanks to a grant by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Best Conference Paper Award for Alessandra Zamparini

Alessandra Zamparini received the Reputation Institute’s 2012 Best Conference Paper Award at the 16th International Conference on Corporate Reputation, for the paper:

Illia, L., and Zamparini, A. (2012) Building a Corporate Image Through Identity Stories: an Empirical Investigation.

The best paper award is provided every year to the most original academic presentation at the global annual conference. A commission of leading academics in the field of reputation, image and identity select the paper.

EpiDay 2012

Next Monday, May 14th, USI’s communication science faculty is hosting its fourth young scholars research day, or EpiDay. Four young researchers of IMCA will present their doctoral research projects. Who wants to learn more about what Ana Javornik, Lakshmi B.Nair and Simone Mariconda are doing should visit the second morning session, starting at 11:00 and chaired by Alessandra Zamparini. Later in the afternoon, Irina Lock will participate in the poster session.

The EpiDay takes place in the auditorium in the main building (3rd floor).

Antonella La Rocca has earned her PhD with summa cum laude

Antonella La Rocca has successfully defended her PhD theses “Interaction and Actors’ Identities in Business Relationships“. She will further pursue her academic career as a Post-Doc researcher at IMCA.
